Reused office
furniture

Second-hand office furniture, from seating, desks and tables to storage and acoustic products, recovered during office clearances and then resold by Relieve Furniture. The pieces carry a 12-month guarantee and are delivered and installed in Belgium, with a CO₂ report.
What is reused office furniture?
The furniture at Relieve Furniture is office furniture that has already been in use: task chairs, chairs, desks, tables, storage and acoustic screens, recovered when companies vacate or move out of their offices. Each piece keeps its original design, often that of major brands such as Vitra, Knoll or Steelcase.
The furniture is inspected and, where necessary, repaired or reupholstered before it goes back on sale, then guaranteed for 12 months. Choosing existing pieces avoids manufacturing new furniture and retains the value already invested in each item.
This reuse approach comes with quantified monitoring. Each project receives a CO₂ report designed to be included in environmental reporting.
The stock comes from furniture actually recovered, and therefore varies over time. It can be browsed online on the marketplace run by Relieve Furniture, a Brussels company whose team can also source missing pieces on request.
Installation & uses
A fit-out with Relieve Furniture starts from the available stock. Pieces are chosen on the marketplace, or the team puts together a selection from a list of requirements and sources the missing pieces.
For a complete project, Relieve Furniture can also design the fit-out, from mood boards to 2D plans and 3D views, combining reused, refurbished and new pieces according to the budget and the environmental objectives.
The furniture is delivered and installed in Belgium. For a large floor plate or runs of identical pieces, it is best to start early: availability depends on what is recovered, not on production capacity.
The service also works the other way round. During a move, Relieve Furniture clears the offices, buys or collects the furniture, then resells, donates or recycles it, with a report on what has become of it. 5% of the net proceeds of the sale go to a charity chosen by the client.
For organisations that manage several sites, the Relieve Pro tool tracks the furniture inventory and allows it to be reused from one site to another.

About the producer
Relieve Furniture is a Brussels company specialising in reused office furniture, and is B Corp certified. It clears offices during moves, puts the furniture back into circulation through its marketplace and furnishes new spaces with second-hand pieces, backed by a CO₂ report. The furniture recovered is resold or donated to a network of more than 5,000 non-profit organisations, schools and public institutions; anything that can no longer be used is recycled. It also offers Relieve Pro, a tool for tracking furniture across several sites.
Life cycle
The furniture comes from Belgian companies that vacate or move out of their offices. Relieve Furniture collects it during its clearance assignments, and each piece is photographed and documented.
Nothing is newly made: the pieces are inspected, repaired and, if necessary, reupholstered or refinished, then put back on sale on the marketplace or included in a fit-out project. Each project comes with a CO₂ report.
In a clearance, on average 40% of the pieces go to non-profit organisations, schools and charities; the rest are resold. Anything that can no longer be used goes to certified recycling partners, and no piece ends up in landfill.
FAQ
Can a large floor plate be furnished with matching pieces?
Yes, within the limits of the stock: the marketplace shows the number of pieces available for each product, some in quantity. Stock depends on the clearances under way; for a large series, it is best to start the search early, as the team can source missing pieces on request.
What guarantee covers this second-hand furniture?
The pieces carry a 12-month guarantee. They are inspected and, if necessary, repaired or reupholstered before delivery. Wear that is disclosed and accepted at purchase does not count as a defect.
What environmental monitoring comes with a project?
Each fit-out or clearance project receives a CO₂ and impact report, designed to be included in ESG reporting. For a clearance, it also states where each piece has gone.
What happens to the furniture when you move out of an office?
Relieve Furniture clears the premises, buys or collects the furniture and finds a new home for it: employees have priority access, on average 40% of the pieces go to non-profit organisations and schools, and the rest are resold. Anything that can no longer be used goes to certified recycling partners, and 5% of the net proceeds of the sale go to a charity chosen by the client.
Can reused and new furniture be combined?
Yes. In a complete fit-out project, Relieve Furniture combines reused, refurbished and new pieces according to the budget and the environmental objectives, with mood boards, 2D plans and 3D views. The furniture is delivered and installed in Belgium.
